Richmond High School upgraded its gymnasium to better support diverse events and improve the experience for students, athletes, and spectators. Needing flexible, safe, and comfortable seating, the school partnered with Hussey Seating Company, renowned for high-quality, adaptable solutions. Together, they set out to create a state-of-the-art facility that would meet the school’s needs while reflecting its school spirit.

The school wanted a design that would incorporate its colors and logos, creating a visually appealing, branded environment. Additionally, the school desired flexibility for the seating configurations and wanted to have it so that they can increase the capacity during events but move and stow additional bleachers around their indoor track.

Hussey Seating Company provided a customized solution that addressed each of Richmond High School’s needs:

MAXAM Telescopic Platform with Courtside Seats: The installation included the MAXAM telescopic platform, known for its flexibility and ease of use. Courtside seats on the platform provided enhanced comfort and a better viewing experience for spectators with versatile gymnasium seating.
Sure Step and Back Panels for Added Safety: The MAXAM platform featured Sure Step for extra traction, minimizing slips and ensuring safer access. Back panels on the reverse-fold platform provided an additional safety layer and created a cleaner look.
Reverse-Fold Platform Design: This innovative feature allowed the platform to fold in reverse, maximizing space behind the unit. Richmond High could move the platform as needed, providing easy access to their indoor track when the gymnasium seating was not in use.
Branded End Curtains: End curtains featuring the school logo added a vibrant touch, boosting school spirit and creating a cohesive branded look.

The collaboration with Hussey Seating Company resulted in a gymnasium transformation that has greatly benefited Richmond High School. The MAXAM telescopic platform, with its Sure Step feature, enhanced both the comfort and safety of spectators. While the reverse-fold design maximized available space, allowing the school to use its gymnasium seating more flexibly. Richmond High can now reconfigure seating for events or clear space for indoor track access as needed.

The branded end curtains and Courtside seats featuring the school logo brought Richmond’s school spirit directly into the gymnasium.
